High-Throughput SPKLU Fast Charging Infrastructure for National EV Ecosystem

PTE Commissions Commercial SPKLU Fast Charging Hubs
Berth 4, intake
30 Apr 2026

PT. Prastiwahyu Tunas Engineering has signed a twenty-year firm capacity contract with the Jakarta MRT & LRT, covering 180 kW DC Ultra-Fast of behind-the-meter storage across the container terminal and its shore power berths.

The terminal was buying exposure rather than power. Crane duty cycles and berth electrification stacked onto a connection already at its limit, and the tariff charged for peaks the operations team could not schedule around.

A schedule instead of a queue position

What the port buys is a fixed capacity figure and a delivery date. Volatility is absorbed on our side of the meter, settlement is published monthly, and no network reinforcement request was filed. Capacity was sized against measured duty cycles and vessel turnaround, not against connected load.

“We stopped negotiating with the queue and started scheduling power. The berth plan is now the constraint, not the feeder.”

Ines Halden · Head of Terminal Operations, Jakarta MRT & LRT

Peak demand at the terminal intake fell 42% after commissioning. Shore power now runs on the connection that was previously the binding constraint.

What gets built, and when

Storage blocks leave owned plants on a fixed cadence and commission against a published test protocol. The first tranche was funded and energised inside eleven months; the same contract structure now covers two further terminals on the same tariff.

“Sizing to the real cycle is what makes a twenty-year contract bankable. Nameplate is not a duty cycle.”

Aldo Reyes · Head of Manufacturing, PT. Prastiwahyu Tunas Engineering

Commissioning of the remaining berths is scheduled through the second half of the year.
